Why Joints Get Stiff: The Science of AGEs and How Noni Fits In

Joints don't just stiffen because of "getting older." There's an actual biochemical process behind it — AGEs — and real research on what may help.

Long-term, low-level swelling inside the body — different from the swelling you get from an injury — is a big reason joints get stiffer over time. Tahitian Noni® MAX combines noni, Cornelian cherry, and olive leaf. All three are rich in iridoids, and all three have been studied for their effect on AGEs.

AGEs stands for Advanced Glycation End-products. They form when sugar sticks to proteins in your body. Over time, this makes joints and tissue stiffer and less flexible. A 2014 study in the International Journal of Food Science found that iridoids — the same compound noni is rich in — can stop AGEs from forming, at least in lab tests. A follow-up study on real people found lower AGE levels in their skin after they drank an iridoid-rich beverage every day for eight weeks. Cornelian cherry, one of the three ingredients in MAX, has its own research showing it protects against AGEs too. Eating an anti-inflammatory diet, such as the Mediterranean diet, is also linked to a lower risk of arthritis in other studies.

Tahitian Noni® MAX builds on ORIGINAL by adding Cornelian cherry and olive leaf. Together, the three ingredients provide more than 30 iridoids from five natural sources. In a clinical study, people who drank 60 mL of MAX every day saw their AGE levels drop by 24% on average after four weeks. See MAX pricing.
